Mr. Kutsnashvili is a member of the Georgian Dream Parliamentary Faction, the Committee of Legal Affairs, the State Constitutional Commission, and the Parliamentary Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Mr. Kutsnashvili is also Head of the Parliamentary Delegation to the Orthodox Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.

Mr. Kutsnashvili graduated from the faculty of Law of the Tbilisi State University.

In 1998-1999, Mr. Kutsnashvili served as a member of the Tbilisi City Council (Sakrebulo). In 2001-2004, he was a member of the Anticorruption Council of Georgia, while in from 2007 to 2012, he chaired the Legal Department of the Patriarchy of the Georgian Orthodox Church.



On October 27, 2014, Mr. Zakaria Kutsnashvili, who is a Member of the Parliament of Georgia and one of the leaders of the ruling Georgian Dream Coalition, hosted a meeting with the representatives of the Armenian community of Georgia. The meeting took place in the Parliament of Georgia. The meeting was devoted to various policy approaches of the ruling Coalition as well as the matters concerning the Armenian community in the country.

The meeting was organized by the Hayartun Cultural, Educational and Youth Center within the framework of the Political Participation through Dialogue Project funded by the Open Society – Georgia Foundation.

Mr. Kutsnashvili introduced the achievements of the Coalition over the two-year period in power and answered the questions from the audience. He was pleased to mention about the beginning of reconstruction works of the Norashen Church. The representatives of the Armenian community in Georgia asked the Member of Parliament to expedite the restitution of the property which had been confiscated from the Armenian Diocese during the Soviet regime.

The participants also raised questions concerning hate speech towards Armenians as well as the issue of insufficient representation of the Georgian citizens of Armenian origin in state bodies.
